Mel aka Melbourne is the next city after Sydney during my Australian trip last January 2013.
We’ve already heard about the weather in Melbourne, where we could possibly experience even 4 seasons in 1 day, yikes, so we won’t forget to bring the sun screen the SPF 50+ if needed. Lol!
My first date with Mel started from the first time I stepped into Melbourne Airport and heading to the Melbourne Central with the SkyBus.
Mel started to impress me with her Southern Cross station architecture. You won’t even realize that the building was actually a train station if you look it from outside. I really love what it looks like from the outside.
The date was becoming really hot, I mean literally hot, when the temperature increased. So it’s the best time to explore the city with the free city circle tram that is circling the Melbourne Central. This city circle tram is very useful as we could hop-on and off anytime we like. The tram is also going in both directions with the interval of 12 minutes.
We started the circle from the tram stop in Flinders Street in front of our hostel in Melbourne Central YHA.
The tram took us to Harbour Esplanade -> Docklands Drive -> La Trobe Street -> Victoria Street -> Nicholson Street -> Spring Street -> back to Flinders Street. We then decided to hop-off in front of the famous Federation Square.
So here are some of the photos that I took during our first date with Mel from inside the City Circle Tram 😉
