Bali Trip – Day #2 – 06.11.2011 …

Bali Trip - Uluwatu (2)

This is Day #2 of my Bali Trip …

Indonesia - Bali - Nusa Dua - Satay seller

Satay seller in Bali – Indonesia

As a result of going to sleep really late last night (err … I think, it’s morning already haha), I woke up really late! I think it’s around 11:30AM something (but I think I already woke up earlier cos I already set the alarm at 10AM – woke up just to turn the alarm off. haha! :D). And we needed to pick up Sinthya at the airport around 1PM.

Actually I have a plan (made the plan in Jakarta), at least I could go around somewhere before picked-up Sinthya at the airport. Well, from 11:30AM to 1PM, I only have 1.5 hours. There’s no way I could go around haha.

Shower first!

Then breakfast! ~ with the leftover from BBQ, and Bram made an instant porridge. I eat anything haha! (Oh wait, not anything!!).

Only 30 minutes left, so we hurried to the airport, luckily the traffic was friendly. Sinthya already arrived when we were on the way … Oops … ๐Ÿ˜›

I told Sinthya that we planned not to go to the hotel first, but we’d go somewhere else first so we didn’t waste time.

So before we began our trip to wherever Bram brought us (lol!), Bram suggested that we ate something first. So still in Nusa Dua area, there’s a woman who sold satay in the corner. And it turned out that the satay was nice!

Indonesia - Bali - Uluwatu temple

Me in Uluwatu, Bali – Indonesia

After that, Bram took us to Uluwatuย to see the temple, and of course .. taking pictures! haha.

We needed to wore sarong (because we wore shorts) before entering the temple area. There’re many monkeys there at the entrance of the temple.

So we just took a few shots before we went up. This place is actually at the cliff, even the temple is located at the tip of the cliff. Too bad we can’t enter the temple.ย We just went around. They’ve already made the wall along the cliff, so can walk to the right or left side of the temple.

I already did a research about tour in Bali, and many tour provider put Uluwatu at the end of the tour, so they can watch sunset from there. I can also see a place where they use to perform Kecak Dance. The place is nice! We didn’t realize that we spent about almost 2 hours there (Am I exaggerating? Lol, let me ask Sinthya later!).

After we spent some hours there, we decided to buy some drink first, and Sinthya got an idea to buy ‘caping’ (the hat that is used by farmer). So we bought the hat, and I met Bram at the car. Oh ya, forgot to tell ya! Bram didn’t join us, he preferred to sleep in the car, so you wonder what was in his mind when I met him!

‘What are you guys doing?’

‘Why did you take so long?’

Me: ‘.. err … taking picture, exploring here, and there … ๐Ÿ˜€ ‘

Then, Bram decided to take us to a beach nearby. The place called ‘Suluban beach’ (you can read the review that I got from tripadvisorย here). The location is near Blue Point Not many people went here, so it’s really nice. The place is very secluded.

Humm, I’ll try to describe it …

I think I can say that it’s a cliff …

The entrance is at the top, then the beach is at the bottom.

But … they’ve already made a way to go to the bottom. Even there are fewย drinking places, cafe, surfing courses, shops along the way. I can say that this place is really good if you want to enjoy the sunset!

The beach itself is not that big. You need to walk a bit, if you like to go to the open sea. Many foreigners there! And they surf! It seems that they know this place better than I do (of course! haha).

Oh ya, there’s a way to go up, they made like small stairs there. Above there’s a place to sit and just enjoy the weather, the scenery, or the sunset! Again, very nice!

Btw, there are some villas, and guest house around there …

Actually, there are two friends of mine, Witra and Yudhi, from Jakarta who flew to Bali just to watch CommonwealthBank Tournament of Champions 2011. Yeap, worth to watch, because this is the last Tournament of Champions that is being held in Bali. They will move the tourney to Bulgaria.

Our plan was to meet on Saturday, but because the plan didn’t match, so then we had dinner with them at Jimbaran beach. They’ve already at Lia’s cafe (Kedonganan), and we entered from Pemelisan Agung Street.

SEAFOODDDDD!!!ย Who doesn’t love shrimp, crab??

eerrr … ME!!

Haha, so I don’t eat anything!

Hey, but I like fish!! ๐Ÿ˜€

So the group order the seafood platter, while I order 1 red snapper. No, I didn’t eat it all by myself. Lol …

The atmosphere is really nice …

Too bad we couldn’t enjoy the sunset at that time. The cloud covered the sun :'(

But, there’s a group of musician that can sing in several languages haha! I think they walked from table to table, or you need to call them to sing for you.

Yudhi and Witra flew back around 9:30PM, so they needed to go, and we needed to go to our hotel, and unpacked things! ๐Ÿ™‚

We got the hotel from Agoda. We actually have browsed many hotels, compared prices and facilities, looked at the rate, and so on … And our decision fell to Eazy Suites Hotel in Legian.

We haven’t been to this hotel before. We just trust the rate, and pictures haha.

It turns out the room is very comfortable! There’s a kitchen there, and living room. So if you want, you can cook there! The staffs are friendly too. There’s a small swimming pool there. They also have cars & motorcycles rental. They also joined with tour provider, so you can book your tour via the hotel. We did! And that’s the story for Day #3 ๐Ÿ˜‰

Mixed Up Already

The things that I love are movies, music, and travel. I have an extended family in the movies world, called MoviegoersID, and we love to hang out and watch the movie together. How about music? Well, do you know The Corrs? Yep, they are a very talented family/musician that I deeply love since high school! If you love them, then we might get a long well ;-) . My love to music then grow to Sugarland, Christina Aguilera, The Script, and of course the one and only Anggun. Travel is the love that grows in me very late. At around 2011, I fell in love with travelling, and I tried my best to travel each month since that time. You can contact me at mixedupalready@gmail.com .

Nice blog enjoyed the depcoistirn of your trip(s). Had googled Tom’s adventure, and your site came up. My friend’s name is Tom and he was told to get out of his routine and go on an adventure that he has always dreamed about. Unfortunately, he has never dreamed of one, ha! He will be 64 years old this week and has worked his butt off for years at a local utility company. He is comfortable with routine and can’t sit still and had trouble sleeping so will go to work at 3AM and work til 5PM. So, on a whim to help him I just googled Tom’s adventure to see what popped up to give him some ideas and there was your’s!!!! He is an engineer and a intellectual. So I read him your blog and he seemed to enjoy hearing the details of your trip. We enjoyed living vicariously through you briefly. Thank you for the interesting details of you shared about your travels and the adventures of your life. God’s speed.

          Hi Abinaya,

many thanks for your comment, and I’m happy that my blog can inspire someone else. Actually after that Bali trip, I said to myself to start writing again about my trip, and I start developing this blog since then ๐Ÿ™‚

Hopefully Tom is going to have an adventure soon. I guess you need to drag him to do a short trip during the weekend haha ๐Ÿ˜€

Let me know about his adventure then! And my friend said to me, instead of writing, why don’t I just do it in a video ๐Ÿ˜‰

          God’s speed ๐Ÿ™‚
