Solo Batik Carnival 5

Previously, I have posted about my trip to Solo (Surakarta) in Central Java – Indonesia. Recently I went to Solo again, just to see Solo Batik Carnival 5. It’s a carnival, so not an ordinary batik fashion show 😉 The carnival is held every 30 June each year, and this is their fifth year runs the batik carnival.

According to my friend, usually they only did the carnival on the road, starting from Jalan Slamet Riyadi and then they would walk to the city hall. This time, the show started from inside of the Sriwedari stadium, where they’re going to show the carnival here first before do the parade on Jalan Slamet Riyadi.

To watch the show in the stadium, we needed to buy the entrance ticket. There were 3 classes, from VVIP (IDR200,000), VIP(IDR75,000), and Regular ticket (IDR25,000). We bought the VIP tickets.

Sriwedari Stadium

 …

Sriwedari stadium is basically a football stadium, so from my seat to the field where the show was being held, actually was quite far. Not good for photo shoot with limited lense (my lense is only 17-50 mm) lol …

The indoor show has some chapters, they called it metamorphosis. I think, they have like 6 metamorphosis or we just call it ‘meta.’

I only get some good pictures from the show 🙁 … Anyway, here are the pictures …

The indoor show finished at around 9PM, where at the end of performance, they invited Miss Indonesia 2011 to join the show.

After the indoor show is finished, then they started the parade from the Sriwedari Stadium to Jalan Slamet Riyadi, and finished the parade in the city hall. I guess that’s a very long walk ;o)))

It’s really an interesting show, first time for me to watch this kind of show. I think the show was inspired by another city who already started this kind of carnival, called Jember Fashion Carnaval.
