During my last day in Waingapu – Sumba, and of course for Halim’s too; we decided to go to another beach to see the sunset. We have checked the map, and we agreed to choose Puru Kambera Beach.
We have asked the hotel staff about this destination, and they all said that the distance is quite close. It has the same direction to Londa Lima beach at Kuta Village, and from there we just needed to follow the road. I think it was only one road at that time to Puru Kambera from Waingapu.
We started at 3PM-ish from the hotel …
It was a fun ride and of course Halim became the captain of the motorcycle haha.
We did pass a beach on our way to Puru Kambera … But it was not our destination, so we kept going. Most of the time, we passed some hills, savannah, and we could only see a couple of people passed us during this road trip.
We also of course passed a small village along the way and some warongs that also sold gasoline …Then we kept thinking … Why we have not yet reached Puru Kambera Beach as the hotel staff said that it was quite close from Londa Lima beach, but … we kept going.
We were getting worried as the fuel tank meter showing about 3 bars only, but I still said to Halim to keep going and hoping that we would reach it soon.At some point, we were hopeless plus worried as we still did not reach the beach. We were in the middle of nowhere with no one around and we were worried about our fuel too, but … I kept saying to Halim not to worry about the gasoline as I saw a warong selling gasoline on our way here! Haha … *just to calm Halim* lol.
We then passed a place where the road is in the middle of the vast savannah, and from afar, I could already see the beach. I said to Halim to stop at this place for a moment to take pictures, as I thought we were still have the time and the distance was already quite close!
This area is beautifully wonderful and stunning, and magical!
I really love the clear blue sky, and even I could see the moon from here. Yes … The sky was that clear.
After we spent quite some time here, we then continued our trip to Puru Kambera Beach.
After a short winding road, we were relieved that we finally found the beach!
Hold on … There was no signage that this was the Puru Kambera Beach … But anyway, we just did not really care. First, we almost ran out of gas. Second, the sun was almost set. Third … we just thought that we were already at Puru Kambera! Lol …
This was surely another short adventure with a little drama of ‘almost running out of gas.’ On our way back to the warong that sold gasoline … I kept reassuring Halim that we almost reached the warong … Almost … And almost … Until we finally reached the warong! Lolllll …
And I believe … For us, the story of going to the beach is more interesting than the beach itself, and I bet you guys have experienced this too 😉
