A long-awaited trip … Hong Kong!

Hong Kong trip - Hong Kong International Airport - Touchdown

Touchdown at Hong Kong!

Early this month, My friends (Yudhi – @yudhi907 , Dewi – @hadwigh , Lidya – @Lramadhania) and I went to Hong Kong and Macau. It’s a trip that we’ve planned many years months ago … Last December to be exact. There’s a good promotion in AirAsia that we couldn’t resist! Although the promotion was last year, the travel period will be this year. As we travelled from Jakarta – Indonesia, then we needed to fly to Kuala Lumpur first before we fly to Hong Kong.

So our trip was Jakarta – Kuala Lumpur – Hong Kong (spent 4D/3N) – Macau (2D/1N) – Kuala Lumpur – Jakarta. (We used ferry from Hong Kong to Macau).

We’ve already secured the tickets from Kuala Lumpur to Hong Kong and from Macau to Kuala Lumpur, but not the ticket from Jakarta – Kuala Lumpur, and Kuala Lumpur – Jakarta haha. The ticket was still expensive, and it’s more expensive than the ticket to Hong Kong and from Macau! Can you believe that?!?! Lol … So we postponed our plan to buy the Kuala Lumpur tickets hoping that the price would decrease or perhaps there would be another promotion … NOT.

Okay lah, so we finally booked the ticket on February … The price is still more expensive than our tickets to Hong Kong … ;’((

So here our flight schedule looked like:

6 July ’12
Jakarta (CGK): 625AM – Kuala Lumpur (KUL): 925AM
Kuala Lumpur (KUL): 150PM – Hong Kong (HKG): 545PM
10 July ’12
Macau (MFM): 1045AM – Kuala Lumpur (KUL): 230PM
Kuala Lumpur (KUL): 635PM – Jakarta (CGK): 735PM

(Note: now you can book Jakarta – Hong Kong route directly (transfer in Kuala Lumpur) no need to book the ticket separately).

The two most awaited destinations would be Lantau Island and Disneyland …. Yudhi made the itinerary, but he found an easier way to make an itinerary … Hong Kong tourism board has already prepared a DIY trip planning tool, that can help you plan your holiday in Hong Kong. Very nice!! Especially for first-timer. Well, the result was not that different with the one that Yudhi has made.

Six months of waiting was really something haha … And finally the month is July!

Hooray … !! (^o^)/

Hong Kong trip - Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong International Airport

Hong Kong trip - Hong Kong International AirportWe chose the first flight to Kuala Lumpur, so we would have some time before our flight to Hong Kong. As this AirAsia flight, so we landed in LCCT , Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This combined flight practically has taken the whole day. We arrived in Hong Kong around 545PM plus the immigration procedure and travel time from the airport to our hotel. We preferred to use bus, because it’s so easy. We only took 1 bus, and just sit there until the last station 🙂 . FYI, the bus also provides WiFi service … Nice!

At Hong Kong International Airport, it’s best you buy the Octopus Card. It’s a smart card that can be used to make a payment in the transportation system (bus, MTR), and also in the convenience stores, and others too.

We stayed at Ibis Hong Kong North Point. The location is very nice, in front of the Harbour of Hong Kong Island (so the view is superb!), and it’s close to MTR station – North Point MTR station. We didn’t really explore the location around our hotel, because we just used to hotel to sleep. We always went out from the hotel in the morning and back to the hotel in the evening.

After we put all our bags in the hotel, we directly went to Temple Street. It’s a place where you will find many eating places and souvenir shops. We just chose one restaurant and had a quick dinner, and looked around for something funny to buy haha!
