During our LOB (Living on Board) trip to Komodo, we also decided to stay one night before and one night after the LOB trip. The first night was because we arrived in Labuan Bajo in the afternoon – the LOB trip usually starts in the morning, while the last night in Labuan Bajo, as we just wanted to extend the night there haha!
For our first night in Labuan Bajo – as this was our first visit to Labuan Bajo, we decided to stay at Green Hill Boutique Hotel located at Jalan Soekarno Hatta in the heart of the city. We believe that staying in this road meant that there were many options on food and many warongs to buy some small things and snacks. And I was right … There are plenty of eating places, warongs, small shops, and some diving operators located at this road.
We arrived at this hotel using taxi service – Avanza, from the airport that has already a fix price to this hotel. It is still consider to be a short distance between the airport and the hotel.
At first, we did not really notice that this was the place, as the sign board of ‘MadeInItaly’ restaurant was just right in front of us lol. Apparently Green Hill Boutique Hotel is under the same ‘roof’ with other restaurants and café. First is MadeInItaly, then The Lounge with its Sky Bar, and lastly is Café.In.Hit, so I guess, if you stay here, you do not need to look around to get food or to hang out with friends haha.
From the street, I actually did not really see the hotel rooms at all, so where are the hotel rooms located?
Actually, the receptionist occupied a small room at the opposite of Café.In.Hit.
After we checked-in, then the staff escorted us to our rooms, which apparently located on one level up from the MadeInItaly restaurant. We went to the hotel area using the stairs, which is the same stairs going to the MadeInItaly restaurant. Yep so this place is actually built on a hill.
The hotel area is divided into three areas, left side of the stairs – which is just beside the hotel dining place (including for breakfast), right side of the stairs, and take another stairs up (I think) there is only one room there (not sure!). In each rooms, the hotel provides chairs and table in front of the room.
Our room was at the left side of the stairs, which apparently was behind The Lounge Sky Bar area – there is of course a divider. This means no view when we came out from our room. Meanwhile, the rooms at the right side of the stairs has nothing blocking the view from their rooms … *sad sad*
Our room apparently is for 3 people, as we have a queen bed and a single bed. Above the queen bed, there was a big mosquito net hanging from the ceiling.
The room was simple but I can say that the room is actually quite big and has an AC too. It also has a lazy long hand woven rattan chair.
One thing that we noticed after we sit for a while in our room … The room has no TV! Lol … Well, yeah it was not a big deal though haha. Perhaps we should go out from the room most of the time!
Our room has no view, but the dining place of the hotel has a better view than our room haha!
The dining place is open until late night, but I think the place is open 24 hours, so you can sit here to utilize the Wi-Fi service of the hotel. If I could remember, the Wi-Fi did not reach our room.
The hotel has a few selections for the breakfast which we should order the night before.
My choice was a very simple but delicious chocolate cheese crepe with honey syrup!
My breakfast became more special as I had it with a wonderful view of Labuan Bajo and the port and THE SEA and THE ISLANDS in front of me! <3 <3 <3
