Hooray!!
‘We’re going to Gili Trawangan!’
We were so excited to stay in Gili Trawangan for 2 nights, because of the many things that I read and heard from my friend.
My friend said that there’s not much you would do there, and well … that’s the point …
You go there to relax, enjoy your life, and do nothing lol … It’s a small island anyway.
But if you still want to do some activities, well you still can do some activities here, from snorkeling, diving, cycling, sun bathing, getting a massage, paddle boarding, and so on …
Anyway, apparently the art of doing nothing is quite hard. I still needed to go here, and there, try this, and that lol …
…
We went to Gili Trawangan from Lombok island.
There are many boat provider (private boat) to the Gilis, but we prefer to use the public boat. This means we should go to Bangsal.
As we used taxi from our hotel to Bangsal, then they dropped us in Bangsal terminal. It’s different if you use private car, I think you can enter the Bangsal port. But from my research, using taxi is cheaper than car rental.
The Bangsal terminal is located quite near to the port, so either you want to use the cidomo (horse cart) or just walk. We chose the latter. It’s not that far, probably it’s about 10 minutes walk.
After we reached the gate, we then walked to the ticketing office inside the small building on the left of the entrance gate.
From Bangsal, you could go to the famous 3 Gilis.
We didn’t need to wait too long for the boat, it’s like less than 5 minutes, then there’s an announcement that the boat was ready.
Well, this is the public boat, so people also use this boat to bring the supplies from Lombok to Gilis.
Fortunately, the wave was quite friendly in the morning, so no splash of the water! Haha …
…
At last … Gili Trawangan …
It took about 1 hour to reach Gili Trawangan from Lombok island. So we didn’t want to waste much time, so we went to our hotel to put our bags …
Walking on the street in the Gili Trawangan, or some people just called it Gili T, kinda reminds me of my day in Gili Air. It’s similar, but of course, Gili T is more crowded. In fact, there were already many people inside the island! They just walked, cycled, riding cidomo, took a diving course, and so on.
Not only people, but also there were a lot of restaurants, cafes, and accommodations. There are a lot here. And one more thing, ATM’s! I thought there’s none, but I found quite a few of ATM’s from Commonwealth Bank, Bank Mandiri, BNI, and BRI.
Our hotel is on the right side from the port … So if I could just divide this side of the island, the area with the port is the centre, and then there are the left side (until the ko-ko-mo resort) and the right side (don’t remember, what’s at the end). The left side is more crowded then the right side, so it’s your choice, where to stay 😉
How about the other side of the islands?
There are some accommodations and restaurants too. This side, of course, would be quieter … So it’s only depends on your preference.
Most of the accommodations in the island, of course is located in front
of the beach, including my hotel, Laguna Gili resort. In fact, they have
a dining place on the beach 😉
On our first day here, we just walked from our side to the ko-ko-mo resort. Apparently the distance from our hotel to ko-ko-mo is quite long lol, and we needed to walk back to our hotel again haha.
We then just decided where we would eat in the night, and in the next day haha!
…

This place is a tourist location for those who seek peace and quiet. and accommodation offered also support this. maybe one time I will be on vacation to this place, and follow what you post. nice post. thanks.
