During my recent Komodo LOB (Living on Board) Trip, we visited many spots starting from Labuan Bajo and also ended in Labuan Bajo. I call this as the Komodo LOB Trip – just to be easier for me, although we only visited the Pink Beach of the Komodo Island but not too see the komodo itself. The provider said that it is easier to see the komodo on Rinca Island rather than on Komodo Island. Well, so I follow lah! Haha …
As I said in my previous post, this was my first LOB trip. I did not know what to expect or what will I experience or even what will I do while on board, but what I do know that I could cross Komodo from my bucket list haha!
…
The trip started from the Labuan Bajo port. There were plenty of boats parked there – well yes, it’s a port lol, that was why, my boat was docked behind another boat.
I thought at first, our boat was the first boat that we stepped on, so we just handshake the captain and said hello … it’s me. Rrrr … But … apparently that was not our boat, and we still needed to walk to the back and move to the boat behind it haha!
So on board, there were the captain, the cook, the engineer, and us.
There were 2 rooms with 2 bedrooms each. Plus there were electric socket … no Wi-Fi … Lol.
There was a decent bathroom.
At the back was the kitchen.
Life jackets were plenty.
We also has brought the snorkeling equipment too.
There was also an upper deck, where we could go up here, if we want.
So we were set to go!
…
The first island that we went was Bidadari Island – yes there was another Bidadari Island at Kepulauan Seribu in Jakarta haha!
The trip was about 30 minutes from Labuan Bajo port.
Actually, it’s a small island, so at first, I was hoping that I could walk around the island, but unfortunately the captain said that we could not go inside the island, as there was (I think) an agreement with the resort on the island, that we could only do snorkeling on this side of the beach.
Well anyway … there were still more islands to visit and explore 😉
The underwater on our side of Bidadari Island was quite okay.
I could still see some colourful corals, and this time my friend brought an underwater camera! – I actually brought a waterproof pouch for my iPhone, but the result was not great …
