Our second day in Hong Kong, we went to Disneyland Hong Kong.

It’s going to be another full day activity, as we wanted to see the fireworks in the closing time of Disneyland Park.

Going there is accessible with the MTR system. If going to Lantau Island I needed to stop at the last station (Tung Chung), but going to Disneyland, I just stopped at Sunny Bay MTR Station. From there, we just boarded the MTR Disneyland Resort Line. This Disneyland MTR is really cute and unique. They framed the windows into Mickey’s shape. Not only the window, even they use the Mickey’s shape to the train straps

We tried to reach the park as early as possible … I think we reached there around 10AM. And can you believe me that suddenly it started to rain?!?!?! Haha …

First what we needed to do is to look for deposit counters to put our shopping bags (yes we actually started our day with shopping! Haha). I even saw people bringing big luggage, and put it in the deposit counters. I think they just landed in the morning!!

Next thing is to buy the entrance ticket. Try to look at the picture in your ticket. My ticket picture is on the right, but you might get different picture

We tried to do many things as possible in this park before Disney In The Stars Fireworks at 9 PM

During our visit, Disneyland divided the park into five different themes, but now they’ve just added a new theme, called Grizzly Gulch … ;o)))

ADVENTURELAND
In this Adventureland, we visited two things … First one is Festival of Lion King.

Who haven’t watch Lion King? I guess, I watched it several times in the past. It’s a really great classic animation, that I won’t get bored to watch …

So when we entered the venue, it’s look like a circus venue, when the audience circles the middle platform. I even didn’t know, what kind of show that I would see here, so I just enjoyed it …

The performers are people with some characters from the movie, which are Simba, Timon and Pumbaa. The performers tried to re-live Simba’s story, from the beginning, when Simba was exiled from the Pride Lands and met Timon and Pumbaa, until he returned to his hometown, Pride Lands, and  saved his hometown from Scar, his uncle.

It’s a performance of music and dance, and I was blown away by the performance. I think the people there has a good quality of voice that they can join American Idol instantly! The singing is great! And of course they sang all the songs from the movie. My favourite of course Hakuna Matata, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, and Circle of Life! Aahh … this really bring back my memory from the past! A good way to start your day in Disneyland

We also did the Jungle River Cruise. It’s a river cruise through the jungle … Where the guest would pass many animals, from elephant, hippo, rhino, crocodiles, and more … Haha, not to worry … The animals are not real, but be prepared to get wet during the cruise

FANTASYLAND

We didn’t explore much the fantasyland area. We just went to see the Mickey’s PhilharMagic. Do you still remember when Mickey conducted a philharmonic orchestra using magic in one of Mickey’s movie? Yes, this is the one … But for this show, they make it into a 3-D show.

The story is about Donald Duck that sucked into another world where he will meet many Disney characters in that world …

The 3-D was great … The audience including myself, was trying to reach something that popped-out from the screen haha.

The famous in the Fantasyland of course the Sleeping Beauty castle. We also tried to pull out the magical Sword In The Stone, Excalibur — which I didn’t succeed , and wishing that our dreams will come true at the charming well of Snow White Grotto.

TOYSTORYLAND
We spent a lot of time here, because there are some rides here, with the scariest one will be the RC Racer, but we didn’t ride RC Racer haha. We tried the Toy Soldier Parachute Drop, and the Slinky Dog Spin haha. Both are fun rides, although in the Parachute ride, they pulled the parachute quite high and then droped us haha …

We did see the Toy Soldier Boot Camp. It’s like a street entertainment, where the soldiers are playing interactively with the audience

And of course, we took pictures with Woody in Barrel of Fun!!

TOMORROWLAND
If we met Woody from Toy Story animation in the TOYSTORYLAND, here, we could meet Buzz Lightyear in the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. We just hopped on a ride, and defeat the Emperor Zurg, but aiming your laser weapon to letter ‘Z’ You will get a score, the later compare your score with your friends, and see who has the highest score

We also tried the Space Mountain ride. It’s a roller coaster ride … The surrounding is imitating the outer space … which means everywhere is dark. This is your time to laugh and scream as loud as you can haha …

Still remember a Disney’s Alien character? Nope? … How about Stitch? Haha, yes, he is an alien. And Stitch Encounter was a REALLY REALLY FUUUNN show that you shouldn’t miss! It’s an interactive show, even I didn’t know that it was actually an interactive show in the beginning of the show

MAIN STREET, U.S.A.

Well, it’s the main street! This is where you could find many souvenir stores, and this is actually the first thing you pass after the entrance, and of course the last thing you pass when you go home

This is the area where we watched the parade in the afternoon. There are two parades actually Flights of Fantasy Parade and Mickey’s Waterworks Parade. Unfortunately because of the rain, they cancelled the Flights of Fantasy Parade

But anyway, Mickey’s Waterworks Parade was really fun to see, and look at the name … ‘Waterworks’ … So be prepared to get wet haha! Even I hid behind a person that opened her umbrella

While we’re waiting for the fireworks, we explored more the Main Street, and entered the ‘Art of Animation’ building at the front side of this Main Street. It’s like a museum of Disney’s animation. They displayed the drawing of the animation, small statues of some of the characters, and in one corner there’s a big glass box where there are Toy Story’s characters inside … Then suddenly the light is being dimmed … and see what happened afterwards

It’s almost 9PM, and it’s time to go outside to the Main Street, and walked to the front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle. The fireworks will be at above the castle, so find a good spot, enjoy the Disney in The Starts Fireworks show, and end your day with a smile
