Sentul and Sand Sculpture

I didn’t realize that there’s a Sand Sculpture Festival in Sentul until my friend, Dino told me about that. When I looked at the website, apparently the festival started from 18 December 2011 until 28 January 2012. And the date when Dino told me it was 27 January 2012, so one more day! Haha. The festival took place in Taman Budaya Sentul City. But anyway, from their official website, they’ve announced that they are extending the show until 30 June 2012, so don’t miss it! :)

Dino also invited Lidya and Galih. We left Jakarta together quite late, I think after lunch time. So from TB. Simatupang we took Jakarta Outer Ring Road and then we took the Jagorawi toll road and exited at Sentul. Then we just headed to the Taman Budaya Sentul City.

After we reached the place, we had our late lunch first before we entered the Sand Sculpture venue. The food court actually had a 50% discount, but only in weekdays.  LOL :D
Sentul and Sand Sculpture - Food Court (Front)The food court’s actually really nice, and it’s quite big too. It still had some Chinese New Year decoration inside the place. Behind the food court, there’s a big field with mountain in the background. There’s also a place for flying fox beside the field :)

After we finished our lunch, then we headed to the Sand Sculpture Festival. The venue was divided into two themes, the first one was the Wonders of Indonesia, and then the next one was the Wonders of The World. Then there’s a Kids Zone area, where kids could try to sculpt the sand. Also beside the zone there’re some pictures of behind-the-scene of the sand sculpture :)

From the info that I read, most of the sculptor came from other countries, but in the group photo, I could see there’s a person from Bali :)
