So yesterday (23 January 2012) was a Chinese New Year. My plan was going to Petak Sembilan to see how’s the celebration at the Vihara. I heard that there’re some temples in the area that located very close to each other.
As I really didn’t know the area, I went there with my friend, Dino, who’s been there few times …
We used The TransJakarta bus and stopped at Glodok busway station, then crossed the street, and passed by the Pasar Glodok. The temple is located in Jalan Kemenangan III, so it’s not that far.
We just went to two temples that located nearby, which were Vihara Dharma Bhakti (Vihara = Monastery) and Vihara Dharma Jaya (Toasebio).
Vihara Dharma Bhakti
There’re a lot of people visiting this temple to pray. The vihara is quite big, consists of 3 buildings if I’m not mistaken. Inside the first building, I could see there’re a lot of big candles in the centre.
They also hanged a lot of lampions (lanterns) in the second building, love the color of the lampions .. ![]()
