The idea came from my friend, Sinthya, to take a photo of Christmas tree / decorations in some malls in Jakarta. At first, I didn’t want to join them to ‘hunt’ the Christmas decoration
, but sometime later when I passed a big Christmas tree inside the mall, I was thinking: ‘humm, this was too nice to be missed’ . So I told Sinthya that I would join her in the ‘hunt!’
Her plan was just to visit 4 malls (Grand Indonesia – Plaza Indonesia – Taman Anggrek – Central Park Jakarta), then I thought, why only 4 malls? So I decided to extend the idea into several malls
. She and her friend, Diana, would send me some pictures in the 2 malls that I couldn’t go
Sound interesting, ey?
Okay, let’s begin the ‘hunt!’
1. Grand Indonesia
They have a BIG Christmas tree outside the mall (near the Coffee Bean
)
Here’s the Christmas tree during the day and night …

The malls have 2 buildings (it’s connected with a ‘bridge’), and here’re what they have between the buildings (below the bridge
).
Interesting!
Next one …
2. Plaza Indonesia
They put a BIG Christmas tree inside the mall at their ‘extension’ part (yes, they call it ‘Plaza Indonesia Extension). Very nice, and big
As you can see, the height is until the third floor of the plaza
Let’s go to the next one
3. Plaza Senayan
They didn’t have a big Christmas tree like the others, but they put a very nice Christmas decoration in the centre of the mall. It’s a house with a big white park

Very nice, right.
Ouh, by the way … Found a Christmas tree in the alley between Monolog and de luca cafe (located in the parking lot)
Simple but pretty
4. Senayan City
You would find a very big and nice Christmas tree in front of the mall. Very nice!!
Inside the mall, you could find a simple and small Christmas decoration: Dancing Santa (yes, it’s actually dancing, and at first I thought the Santa was real! But it’s not
) with the sleigh inside the decoration area.
Then in the main atrium, there’s a Lego exhibition, with the main area was occupied with a big Lego City in Christmas theme. There’s a snowman from Lego too. Can you believe how many pieces of Lego to make it? ![]()

5. Gandaria City
They had all Christmas decoration inside the mall …

In the main atrium of the mall, they installed a stage with a big Christmas tree beside the stage. As you can see in the stage, there’re many equipments installed in the stage. Apparently they’re FIREFLY show. Too bad, I couldn’t watch the show. It should be very interesting.
They also put some nice Christmas decoration on the revolving door (entrance to the mall), and also in the alley of the food street.

What’s next?
6. Pacific Place
No, they didn’t have big Christmas tree inside the mall, but they set a stage in the main atrium of the mall. They had a Christmas operetta! I watched it for a moment, and it’s really nice. They really had a nice dance choreography. Even the stage was really nice too
Above the stage, they hanged plenty of nice decorations too.
But, see what I found outside the mall … It’s located in front of Pacific Place Mall and beside the Jakarta Stock Exchange building ![]()

7. Pondok Indah Mall
I heard from my friend that they had ‘SNOW’ theme
And yes … in the centre of Pondok Indah Mall II you could find a big ice rink. That’s cool
I guess they like to install ice rink here, if I’m not mistaken, they installed an ice rink too in the previous year.
Hey, they also set a space with snow in North Skywalk! And you can play inside it

Here are some other decorations inside the Pondok Indah Mall …

And here are some photos that Sinthya gave me from the malls that I couldn’t visit.
8. Taman Anggrek Mall
She gave me these cute pictures … And if I read the description, it was made from sweets? Cute!

9. Central Park Jakarta
And last picture comes from Central Park Jakarta with its BIG outdoor Christmas tree
Well, that’s all folks!
And, Christmas would not be complete with Santa! So Ho .. Ho .. Ho .. !! ![]()
